Monocouche Render — Hertfordshire & North-West London
Modern, low-maintenance through-coloured render for a contemporary exterior finish.
Monocouche (French for "single coat") render is a factory-produced, through-coloured render system applied in a single pass. Unlike traditional sand and cement render which requires painting, monocouche carries its colour all the way through — so chips and weathering do not expose a grey base coat beneath.
The result is a contemporary, clean exterior finish that requires significantly less maintenance than painted render. Systems such as Weber Pral M and K Rend are widely specified on new builds and extensions throughout Hertfordshire, and Roger is experienced with both scraped and rolled finish textures.
Monocouche is more material-cost than traditional render but the long-term saving in redecoration makes it cost-effective for most external wall projects where appearance matters.

Common Questions
What colours are available?
Weber and K Rend both offer extensive colour ranges. Roger can provide sample panels before work starts so you can see the colour at full scale before committing.
Does monocouche render need painting?
No — that is the key benefit. The colour is integral to the product. A light wash every 10–15 years is recommended to refresh the surface, but no painting is required.
Is monocouche suitable for all wall types?
It is suitable for most masonry substrates including brick, block, and concrete. Roger will assess the wall condition and advise on any preparation required before application.
