Together, Let’s Give Our Community Space to Grow
Introducing the PRA Community Award. Every quarter, Roger donates up to 12 hours of skilled trade support to a Hertfordshire charity or community space that brings people together. This is the start — and we want you to be part of it.
Hope
Practical, hands-on help delivered where it’s needed most.
Together
You tell us who needs it — nominations come from the community.
Room to grow
Protecting and improving the shared spaces that hold a community together.
Be Part of the Very First Award
There are no past winners yet — and that’s the exciting part. Tell us who deserves it: nominate a place that matters to you, and Roger and the PRA team will choose where this begins.
Nominate a Charity or Community SpaceWhy Roger Is Doing This
UK charities are under more financial pressure than at any point in recent memory. Buildings go unrepaired. Maintenance gets deferred. The spaces where vulnerable people receive support quietly deteriorate, not because no one cares, but because there simply isn't the money.
A charity's building is rarely just a building. It's where a support group meets, where a foodbank stores and distributes, where someone finds a warm, safe space. Left unaddressed, small maintenance issues rarely stay small, and protecting these spaces means protecting the people who rely on them.
Roger has spent over two decades working with his hands. He knows what a difference a sound wall, a fresh coat of paint, or a repaired surface can make, to a space, and to the people who use it. The PRA Community Award is his way of putting those skills where they're needed most: donated skilled trade support, every quarter.

Working with Hertfordshire's Voluntary Sector
We know that local organisations understand their communities best.
The PRA Community Award is designed to support the charities, voluntary groups and community organisations that provide vital services across Hertfordshire.
We welcome nominations from the public, but we also work alongside local voluntary sector networks to help identify where practical support could make the greatest difference.
How It Works
A simple, transparent process that runs every three months and is led by review, not popularity
Nominate
Submit a Hertfordshire charity, community organisation, voluntary group, social enterprise or community space that could benefit from practical trade support.
Review
Roger and his team review every nomination, looking at the organisation's community impact and the support that's needed.
Select
Each quarter, one organisation is selected, chosen for where donated skilled trade support can make the most meaningful difference.
Complete the Work
Roger carries out up to 12 hours of donated skilled trade support (plastering, rendering, painting, decorating and carpentry) over the quarter.
Share Impact
Once the work is complete, we share the story of the difference it's made to the organisation and the people who use the space.
How We Select
Each quarter, PRA will review nominations and select a Hertfordshire charity or community organisation where donated skilled trade support can make a meaningful difference.
Selection will consider:
- the impact the organisation has within the community
- how the practical support will benefit the people who use the space
- whether the work can be completed within the scope of the award
